WELCOME!

My #1 PRIORITY IS TRANSPARENCY AND COMMUNICATION!

I created this blog for you, the residents of Century Village, to make your voices known! The goal of the blog is to make your compliments and concerns known to all. Give us your comments on topics that you would like discussed at Synergy Club meetings, issues you would like addressed by WPRF and/or UCO. Do you get the help you need? Are your questions answered? You are more than welcome to spread the blog link to all of your friends and family throughout the village to give them an opportunity to speak as well! The only rules are – no profanity, be respectful, no inappropriate language. That’s it! Note – topics will not immediately appear after submission until cleared for the rules above. We want everyone to have a pleasant blog experience.

Here’s what you have missed so far:

  • In January, we talked about the Goals, Vision & Mission Workshop for BOSS (Boards, and Owners for Success). We also did a presentation on best practices and how to vet property management companies, as well as providing a list of six property Management companies to obtain proposals from .

  • February’s meeting was a doozy! We had a fantastic presentation on “Who Pays for What?” in condo damage claims. We presented the Florida Condominium Damage Responsibility Guide, including flowcharts and decision trees. We also provided a detailed comparison grid covering many scenarios and showing who would pay for what in each one. We provided a sample resolution on how the board of administration and owners would handle water damage responsibilities, along with a sample transmittal email letter to owners.

  • In March, we had a guest speaker from a local homeowners insurance agency. She presented best practices for buying homeowners insurance and highlighted what to look for in a policy, including policy limits and hurricane coverage.

  • In April, we provided presentations for strategies to safeguard equipment and to ensure reliability. We also provided a “Preventing Water Damage and a Proactive Guide for Condo Owners” presentation.

  • June’s meeting brought a more entertaining but still very substantive presentation on “The Captain’s Log: Navigating the 10 Scariest Sea Monsters of Condo Board Operations!”, We provided not just the top 10 challenges board members face in their day-to-day operations, but 15! We included several examples, followed by the relevant state law and solutions to address the challenges.

  • For June, we presented my personal favorite, “Meet Larry the Lymow and Larry Jr.!” We presented “The Great Lawn Debate” Where we looked at a head-to-head lawn face-off between traditional lawn care service companies and the 21st-century solution, which is the robotic solution (Larry and Larry Jr. robotic mowers). It was a hoot! We watched videos of Larry and Larry Jr. in action and highlighted how robotic solutions far outshine traditional lawn care services. By the way, for those who are interested in pursuing the robotic lawn care services, please call or text. me  at 561-236-8936, and I’ll be happy to discuss it with you.
